Wish You Were Here (Live At The Royal Albert Hall - Video - DOLBY DIGITAL /PCM STEREO).
  3. As a composer and arranger, Simone moved from gospel to blues, jazz, and folk, and to numbers with European classical styling. Besides using Bach-style counterpoint, she called upon the particular virtuosity of the 19th-century Romantic piano repertoire—Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, and others.

Recorded at a time when Nina Simone was feeling rejuvenated by her surroundings and by the African musicians she met in her newly adopted France, ‘Fodder On My Wings’ is an essential, deeply personal album from the High Priestess of Soul.
  5. Simply because I was blown away by her previous blues album made many years ago (Nina Simone sings The Blues). My music taste is catholic I believe is the expression. Most music strikes a chord with me (no pun intended) Blues, Jazz, Classical, Opera, Some pop, some early Rap but not the modern (a swear word every third word seemingly)/5().

Sings the Blues is an album by singer/pianist/songwriter Nina Simone. This was Simone's first album for RCA Records after previously recording for Colpix Records and Philips Records. The album was also reissued in with bonus tracks, and re-packaged in by RCA / Novus as a track compilation under the title The gavinarakeleronmalofym.xyzinfo: Blues, soul, jazz, pop, folk.

When Nina Simone passed away, she left behind a fearless legacy that continues to bear fruit today. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee was a rare spirit. The classically trained Simone married blues, politics, gospel, soul and jazz as she led an unflinching career of authority and complexity.

FYI, there is another album, Nina Simone Sings the Blues, which I believe is the original recording back in the 60s. Anyway, The Blues seems to be a re-release of /5(24).
